October 15, 2026 Nooksack Valley October 2026
On behalf of the convening church of Nooksack Valley, Rev. C. Vanderlinde called the meeting to order. He welcomed everyone, with special welcome to the guests and br. Noah Holtvlüwer, then led in opening devotions. He remembered the new academic year of CRTS, the call that br. Holtvlüwer accepted to the church in Aldergrove, the call to Rev. Segstro to Providence Edmonton and the recent approval of the green card application for the Vanderlinde’s.

The credentials of the delegates were examined and found to be in good order and classis was constituted. Rev. T. Veenstra was appointed as chairman, Rev. I. Borst as vice-chairman and Rev. J. Segstro as clerk.

The agenda was adopted with minor additions.

After reviewing the necessary documents, the ordination examination of br. Noah Holtvlüwer commenced. The brother presented his sermon proposal on Acts 12:20-25. After discussion in closed session and concurring advice from the deputies of Regional Synod, his proposal was deemed sufficient to proceed with the rest of the exam. The candidate was examined in the areas of Old Testament, New Testament, Doctrine and Creed, Knowledge of Scripture, Ethics, Church History, Church Polity, and Pastoral Ministry. After discussion in closed session, and with the concurring advice from the deputies of Regional Synod, classis joyfully shares with br. Noah Holtvlüwer that he has sustained his examination. At this time the chairman gave thanks, leading us in song and prayer, and opportunity was given to congratulate our brother.

A letter of fraternal greeting was received from Rev. J. Munive, on behalf of the Western Classis of the RCUS. The chairman noted the prayer requests shared by our brothers in this classis and prayed for them at the closing of the meeting.

The following reports are received: a report for the inspection of the archives of classis. The archives are in good order with minor comments. A report of the review of the books of classis. The books are reported to be in good order. The treasurer is thanked for his work.

During question period as per Article 44 of the Church Order, it was confirmed that the ministry of the office bearers was being continued in all the churches and that all the churches abide by the decisions of the major assemblies. One church asked for advice.
