Please be advised that general synod is a meeting in progress, where activities are very fluid. Especially at the start of synod, much of its business takes place in advisory committees, not open to the public. Advisory committees produce documents at any given moment, and then need to be dealt with by Synod in a plenary (=everybody present) session. This reality implies that even synod members do not know until often just an hour prior as to what is happening next. Synod is attempting to ensure that the evening sessions are open and deal with issues of interest to the church membership, without unnecessarily slowing down the work of Synod. Thank you for your patience. Please pray that the Lord will continue to bless synod members with energy and wisdom for the work the churches have entrusted to them to do.
