Rev. Borst welcomed the delegates on behalf of the convening church of Vernon. He led in devotions to our Lord and Saviour. After Classis was declared constituted, the suggested chairman Rev Segstro led the meeting. The proposed agenda was reviewed, emended and adopted.
The church of Aldergrove submitted an overture for a proposed revision to the Form for the Solemnization of Marriage. The proposal was discussed and amendments were suggested. The emended proposal was adopted. The overture will be submitted to Regional Synod West.
The church responsible for auditing the work of the treasurer reported that everything was in order. A church visit to the church of Sardis was reported on.
The chairman asked the churches the questions of Article 44. The churches replied that the offices are being maintained and that the decisions of the assemblies are being upheld. There were no requests for advice.
The church of Yarrow was appointed to convene the next Classis on December 5 (alternate March 6). The suggested officers were the chairman from Abbotsford, vice from Aldergrove, clerk from Chilliwack. Revs Schouten and Wielenga were appointed to Regional Synod West, with Revs de Boer and Schoof as alternates in that order. Elders Ron de Haan and Cason VanDriel were appointed to Regional Synod West, with elders Cody Voorhorst and Bob Johnson as alternates in that order.
The current church visitors were reappointed. Likewise, the church for auditing the books of the treasurer, the church for the archives, and the church for the inspection of the archives were reappointed.
Question period was made use of, censure was not required, and the chairman closed the meeting in a Christian manner.
